Clontarf

Clontarf derives its name from the Irish Cluain Tarbh, which means 'the meadow of the bull' – it was said that the sea crashing against the shore sounded like a herd of stampeding bulls. Clontarf is a fishing village nestled half way along Dublin Bay's northern shore and is where Brian Boru the High King of Ireland defeated a mighty Viking army in 1014. It is also where Bram Stoker, the creator of the world's most famous vampire, Dracula, was born.

Clontarf are Irish whiskeys of real distinction. The purity and character of the Irish elements are reflected in their smooth, full flavour. As tradition dictates, only the finest grain and purest Irish spring water are used in the delicate distillation process, with the whiskey then mellowed through Irish Oak charcoal, produced on the rugged Irish Atlantic coast. Finally, Clontarf is gently aged in New World bourbon barrels, bestowing a silky soft texture.

A delicious, full textured whiskey with hints of cream toffee and vanilla that tease the taste buds before the velvety soft finish delights the palate. In the true spirit of Irish hospitality this whiskey bends over backwards to please the drinker.

“A quite delicious and dangerously easy session whiskey that begs to be drunk but will mix well.”
Jim Murray
